My chores for this morning: potting plants, raking, setting myself up on a content writer website and contacting the owners of the dumpster so that they can now pick it up for the new roof is done. Yes! That little fact means the wee house in the woods is going to experience a quiet day.
My pleasures for the afternoon: Grabbing my camera and heading for St. Croix Falls to do two things...shopping and maybe I will come across something I want to catch with my camera. Then upon returning home I will putter around home hanging a couple of pictures, baking, watching movies on TV, and then making a simple dinner.
Today's "Daily Word" quote that spoke to me: "I cannot place a price tag on the things that bring me the greatest enjoyment." Many years ago when I was going through one of the most difficult times in my life that I had and have ever experienced, it was gratitude for the little things that got me through each and every one of those dark days. It was gratitude for the smell of coffee brewing, it was gratitude for that cup of coffee just brewed, it was gratitude for sunrises and sunsets, it was gratitude for the first snow of the year, it was gratitude for good health...and on and on...all the blessings in life that we are prone to take for granted.
Every once in awhile I need to be reminded of this incontrovertible fact of life...gratitude for the little things. Living with an "attitude of gratitude" puts everything into perspective. Another thing I have discovered is that if we take care of our spiritual life...our spiritual self...if we nurture it and give it substance (prayer, meditation, quiet) with which it can thrive...all other things will fall into their divine place in our lives. Things such as love, laughter, prosperity and health will be in divine order. What more could we ask for?!
So...with an "attitude of gratitude" I pursue the blessings of this wonderful spring day.
E'nuff!
