- 6 ounces (3 1/2 cups) medium noodles
- 1 6-1/2 to 7-oz can tuna
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Spin Blend
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen peas
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped canned pimiento
- 1/4 tsp. crushed dried sweet basil
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 10-1/2 ounce can of cream of celery soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar or American cheese
- 1/2 cup slivered blanched almonds, toasted
- Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender; drain. Combine noodles, drained tuna, mayonnaise, vegetables, sweet basil and salt. Blend soup and milk; heat through. Add cheese; cook and stir until cheese melts. Add to the noodle mixture. Turn into a 1 - 1/2 quart casserole. Top with almonds. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) about 20 minutes. Makes about 6 servings.
