 Although the San Francisco Bay Area is blessed with a mild climate, there is a winter from time to time where we do get snow that dusts the tops of the surrounding mountains. This picture was taken on one such snowy day and involved a heart healthy hike up Mt. Diablo for the roads were closed (because of the snow).
Although clouds are supposed to roll in this afternoon and there is a forecast of light rain for tomorrow and the next day, this morning dawned sunny, warm and clear. It would be so nice to spend the day enjoying the sunlight...but to work I must go...
Between the wind and the salt air one would think that an ocean beach would not be a good place for flowers to thrive. Yet they do thrive in hidden protected places...places protected from the relentless wind...and they bloom. Here is a small patch of flowers that I found along Sharp Beach...happily lifting their little faces to the morning sun.
 Truly I am blessed to have such beauty within walking distance of my home. Imagine, for a moment, sitting on a rock in the warm sun...a cool breeze off of the Pacifica...the sound of waves rushing through this channel...the peace that then unfolds within...
Does not this picture capture the warmth of a summer day as this little flower stretches itself toward the sun.
 Gently awakening and opening to the morning sunlight this beautiful flower caught my attention one morning while I was out walking along the ocean. The warm sunlight and the cool ocean breeze created a wonderful elixir that was spiritually healing. Photo taken with my Minolta 450 SLR.
 This picture was taken with my Minolta 450 SLR camera many years ago. I liked the picture so much that I used it for cards and also framed pictures. At the one and only art show I ever did...I sold all of them. This morning I came across the picture and sitting here I can now smell sage, feel the heat of the sun, and hear the sound of bird calls on a warm sunny afternoon along a dusty road.
