There is nothing quite as quintessential as a 4th of July in Minnesota/Wisconsin. Warm sunshine, soft breezes, beautiful lakes, people boating and water skiing…worshipping the sun and warmth of these stolen days of summer. Thank you to the generous hosts for welcoming all of us into their home on Forest Lake yesterday afternoon. I so appreciated the afternoon of good food, good drink and good company...and will always remember it with a smile in my heart.
Now this morning is a completely different day. I woke to a cloud covered humid day with a forecast of thunderstorms. The news is that North Korea has successfully launched an ICBM fully capable of reaching the United States. Meanwhile at home we have an incompetent fake president with a congress that puts power, party, ideology and money before the well-being of country and the American people. It is a toxic combination for which there seems no solution at the moment.
So I pray for the safety of those that I love. I also pray for the well-being of this once great country that has lost its way...it is capable of being so much more than what it is today.
