Summer arrived yesterday...

Summer arrived yesterday with a vengeance.  We went from comfortable temps to uncomfortable temps in a matter of 24 hours.  Yesterday's high temperature was 85 (F) and with the coming of evening the humidity set in.  Although I slept well, I am also wishing that I had the air conditioners installed.  And I can't do that quite yet because I need the three pronged electrical outlets by each window to which the portable air conditioner is going to be placed...and I am still waiting to here from the electrician as to when he can do that.  Ummm...let me see...I inquired on Monday morning and now it is Saturday morning and there is no word back from him.  The leisurely non-responsive way of life in the Northwoods is on full display.  If I remember correctly, at the time I had the electrical upgraded throughout the house his comment was:  "If you need anything additional done, please be sure to let me know."  Yes, he did a great job on the electrical upgrade.  Now if only he would get back to me...because this is indeed "needing something additional done."

One of the things I loved about living in San Francisco is that the weather there was like living in year around fall weather (fall is my favorite time of the year) with warm days and cool nights and basically no humidity.  I'd not quite forgotten what heat and humidity are like...but it is now being quickly reaffirmed to me that it is something I do not like.

Yet, I find myself surprisingly comfortable.  Today's weather is supposed to be more of the same with thunderstorms this afternoon.

Ahhh well.
