"In the depths of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer." ~Albert Camus11/12/2017 Today I am thinking of my Mother...for if she were still with us, this would have been her birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!
Somewhere somehow I know that she knows she is still loved, that birthday greetings are on our minds and in our hearts, and that we treasure the memories of her. E'Nuff! "Life is a full circle, widening until it joins the circle motions of the infinite." ~Anais Nin11/4/2017 At times I feel as if my life has come full circle and that I am now back where I started. This is not a bad thing and yet it does give me something to think about. The wee cottage in the woods was built at the same time my parent's house had been built in 1957 and there are many similarities between the two structures. There are times I walk into this house and I smell my parent's house for it has the same vibe and the same comforting smells. I feel as if I am "back home" again even though their house is now nothing more than a distant memory.
After spending half of my life in San Francisco, California, I am rediscovering the decided difference of the four seasons of Northwestern Wisconsin. Sometimes as each of the seasons exhibit themselves I feel as if I am a child again. Oh the wonder of flowers coming into full bloom, the leaves changing into glorious color...or the first snowfall of the year...all of these seasons bring out the child wonderment that has been there yet latent for so many years. So what I am doing during this period of transition is just sitting back and letting the joy of life happen...I am living with an "attitude of gratitude." I've never been able to allow myself to do this before...and perhaps I should have allowed it...but that is part of the past for this time is now a gift. No regrets. Now each and every day I am practicing living in the moment. Where this takes me, I have no idea...but what I do know is that it is going to be a wonderful adventure...for I've now come full circle and each and every day remains a wonderful gift with which I can grow, experience, and learn. Thank you Mother/Father God. E'nuff. |
