"It takes no compromising to give the people their rights……it takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no political deal to give people freedom. It takes no survey to remove repression. " ~Harvey Milk
"San Francisco itself is art, above all literary art. Every block is a short story, every hill a novel. Every home a poem, every dweller within immortal." ~ William Saroyan
"The garden of love is green without limit and yields many fruits other than sorrow or joy. Love is beyond either condition: without spring, without autumn, it is always fresh." ~Rumi
My favorite Chinese restaurant on the west coast (Pacifica, CA) is Tam's. Since moving to Wisconsin I have missed their good food so much. For so many years eating there whether it be at the restaurant or doing take-out, it was a staple of my life. I swear to this day that their hot & sour soup has healing powers...a winter cold happening and their hot & sour soup would be the perfect antidote.
Than you Tam's for all of the good memories of my life.
"Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God's handwriting." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
"And the faith that grows out of questioning is stronger than the faith born of blind acceptance. It can withstand the shocks of circumstance. Only he who questions the universe and questions it in utter honesty can grow in his comprehension of the truth
"There is a universal flow of wholeness, an inexhaustible and irrevocable stream of life, in which I live, move, and have my being." ~ Unity's Daily Word
"I do not dwell on what seems to be. Instead, I focus on what truly is: I am a child of God and indwelling, infinite love is always with me." (Courtesy of Unity's Daily Word)
Is it not nice to have a moment of reflection early in the morning as the sunlight begins to stream through the windows and touch everything with its glow? Especially when it is fall the sunlight has its own special golden hue?
As you who have followed this blog might know, it has been a tough transition for me in my move from San Francisco to a small town in Northwestern Wisconsin. But I have arrived home! Every ounce of my being declares that I am at home.
So this morning as the sun rose and as I sat on the couch witnessing the start of a new day...my heart was overflowing with gratitude for this moment, for this day, for this new start in life.
And I quote Unity's Daily Word for this day: "I do not dwell on what seems to be. Instead, I focus on what truly is: I am a child of God and indwelling, infinite love is always with me."
