It has been a full day for each of us. Getting ready for dinner with friends...shopping, cooking, and finally good conversation filled with laughter...and savoring good food. As much as my friends tried to befriend CJ, he was unfriendly tonight. The minute the guests left, he was all over me as if saying in his not subtle way..."I have you all to myself now." LOL

Yesterday afternoon was a time of accomplishing projects around home including cleaning the patio, doing wash, cleaning in general. When the chores were all done, I suddenly realized how tired my little "helper" was from having been in the way every step of the way. Truly, with his "help" everything takes twice as long to do...LOL
Here along the Northern Pacific coast...just south of San Francisco...we are having a summer of below average temps. I guess it is an effect of El Nino...a cooler than normal summer. Most days are lovely and sunny but when the sun goes down and the coastal fog rolls in, it gets cold. This weather makes for lots of quiet evenings for CJ and I simply hanging out at home with the oven going cooking some wonderful delight for dinner and providing at the same time enough warmth to take the chill out of the air.
In our home is the one single bar stool that sits next to the desk with a wonderful view out of the dining room window. This is one of CJ's favorite places to lounge whether actively watching critters...or tonight when just looking around at this & that. I am truly blessed with my little buddy's companionship.
The fog is surrounding us with its soft drizzly cocoon, the windows are shut, our home is warm and comfortable...it is a good Sunday afternoon for a kitty slumber.
The two most important things to CJ when I get home in the evening are: 1) My picking him up and carrying him through our home so he can look out each and every window. 2) Being fed. However, sometimes being fed is superseded by him just want to be close to me...so now he is on this stool which is close to my shoulder as I am typing this...and his food is momentarily forgotten.
