This morning I came across this very old picture of Harry. He and I were best friends for 18 years. What a sweet spirit he had and although it has been many years since he transitioned, I still miss him.
As I start this morning of this day which may be a day of great change, I find the picture of this pier somewhat symbolic in that it represents a day of freedom in the sun. A new step in my life may also be at hand.
Here are some words from James Dillet Freeman's poem "Be": "… Today needs no reason for being. It is its own reason for being. Sufficient that it is today. Life needs no reason for being. It is its own reason for being. Sufficient that it is life. You need no reason for being. You are your own reason for being. Sufficient that you are you. God loves you for what you are, not for what you have done or have not done. What are you? You are God’s child. That is your reason for being." - See more at: http://www.unity.org/resources/articles/be#sthash.FsliMbDa.dpuf One day while walking along the wall that separates the Pacific from Sharp Park Golf Course, I realized I had this little friend walking along with me. As I walked he would dark in and out and over the rocks always keeping pace with me. I did not have treats with me that day; nor, was I one of the people that fed the squirrels...so to know that he simply liked walking along with me was an honor.
